5th Edition, August 2020.
ENT Masterclass® continues in its philosophy to provide free educational resources nationally and internationally. We now present the Fifth Edition of 'Cyber Textbook on Operative Surgery'. This is probably the largest 'virtual library' of ENT surgical videos from the leading experts from 7 continents.All the sections have been updated with a total of 540 videos including over 250 new videos, especially in the Facial Plastics, Rhinology and Otology sections.
This project has involved trawling through thousands of surgical videos from all over the world over the last 12 months and and after peer review nearly 540 surgical videos have been shortlisted. I would like to thank the Editorial Coordinator for the Fifth Edition: Dr Hamdan Pasha FCPS, Senior registrar and his co-editors: Dr Rahim Dhanani FCPS, Head & Neck Fellow and Dr Zeeshan Ali Shah FCPS, Registrar for their intensive efforts in putting together the updated 5th edition.
Some of us would remember 'Operative Surgery by Rob & Smith', which was very popular in the 1980s which took us through surgical procedures with pen sketches. Keeping up with times, here is an attempt to get together the immense resources available in the public domain on the internet, YouTube, Google and various academic websites, which are the main sources that have helped in this project. We are thankful to the numerous contributors from all over the world. There are approximately 540 free videos which are mostly under 10 minutes each and demonstrate techniques which may vary according to local preferences and so does the background music!
ENT Masterclass® does not advocate any particular surgeon or technique in this collection and it is up to the viewers to make their own judgements and utilise what they think is appropriate.
We hope that this resource will be an evolutionary platform and I would request viewers to email their votes/comments on individual videos at: secretary@entmasterclass.com On the basis of the feedback we shall hope to edit the list and would welcome contributions to add to the collection.
